Business Plan for A Start-up in 10 Questions
Business plan and pitch deck are important for a start-up. Entrepreneurs are struggling with how they can develop a proper business plan for investors.
You should answer ten questions before starting your business plan;
1- The purpose of the business plan. It can be for investors or a grant or bootstrapping. The purpose of the plan determines the audience. For example, if you want to go investors, you should show high ROI with more aggressive growth. On the other hand, for bootstrapping you should make a more balanced cash flow with critical milestones. For a grant, you should focus on the scope of the grant and find common points between your project and the grant.
2- What are you doing? You should define your product in one paragraph, and it should be clear and understandable. No buzzword or marketing terms. Just explain what you will do.
3- Team… Team… Team… You need a team. The idea is not important for success. Build a core team. The best pitch deck always starts with a dream team.
4- Why will customers choose you? Define in a few sentences why a typical customer will choose. Please be objective. Nobody will choose you because of the technology you use. You should have a valid argument about your customers.
