You might have been hearing more hype around the Metaverse, lately.

It’s basically a virtual reality world. You hop on and can interact with strangers around the world where you can chat, network, work for money, etc.

A lot of the same things you do in the real world, you can do in the Metaverse.

It’s a really interesting topic that I think will continue to grow in popularity over time. I’m no expert at this point but maybe one day I’ll be.

I came across this Tik Tok video and had to share. This kid was working in a Metaverse Subway.

Here’s what I learned…

How much he makes working at a Metaverse Subway.

This guy works in a Metaverse Subway part-time.

From the video, it’s clear that he’s young, as he mentions he’s in school. He talks about getting out of school and then hopping on the Metaverse to work his after-school, part-time job at Subway.

This isn’t affiliated with Subway, by the way.

He works around 7–8 hours and then gets off.

He gets paid in cryptocurrency, at 0.000676 ETH per hour + customer tips.

Here’s a screenshot from Coinbase’s converter which shows how much he makes in USD:

Coinbase

That’s right, $1.73/hour.

When I first saw this video, the conversion was a little better, at around $2.20/hour or so.

It’s obviously dropped but either way, it’s a fraction of minimum wage in the U.S.

Is it worth it?

Immediately no. Those are my initial thoughts but, it makes you think about a few different things.
