Have you ever wondered how many YouTube channels have hit the one million subscriber mark?

I know I certainly have.

After a few quick searches on Google, I came across some estimates that seemed low while others seemed extremely high, and most were extremely outdated.

Some were showcasing numbers as low as 2,000 subscribers, while others said as many as 50,000 subscribers.

While I don’t have the EXACT number, I think I have figured out a pretty solid answer to the question.

The Mathematics To The Equation:

YouTube is never going to flat-out tell us how much YouTubers are making. Still, with current information, we can assume and calculate that some of the larger channels are making millions per year just off of ad revenue.

The same goes for the number of channels that have hit the milestone to receive the golden play button award, the one million subscriber mark.

Most YouTubers have made a video announcing when they cross the massive milestone; I know I certainly would if I ever hit it. Not to brag, but just to thank you for the support from their community and give some ideas on things they hope to achieve in the future.

When searching on YouTube, you can set filters; most people, for some reason don’t realize or utilize this.

By searching for “one million subscribers,” I set the filter to sort by the most recently uploaded.

This brought me back these results first:

As you can see, all of these videos have extremely low views for someone with one million subscribers, even if they did just upload the video.

If you have one million subscribers, the moment you upload a video, and it is ready to be viewed on YouTube, they will send out a notification to all of your subscribers. This is why whenever a large channel publishes a video, no matter how fast you click on it, it already has hundreds or thousands of views.

So we after checking the top few results, I quickly ruled them out, which brings us to this video here:

Tabor Hill's video titled “My ONE MILLION SUBSCRIBER Item Shop Review” was just published two days ago and already had over 130,000 views on YouTube. This was a great indicator that odds are, the channel probably has a large number of subscribers, or a video just happened to go trending with that title and received a larger number of views above their norm.

After clicking on the channel, Tabor Hill does indeed have one million subscribers; he is actually sitting at 1.01 Million Subscribers, meaning he just reached the milestone.

Before we go any further, I want to give a shoutout to Tabor Hill for hitting such a big milestone. I had never heard of him before now, but congratulations on being the newest gold play button award winner!

Using The Information, We Have:

After sorting through numerous different search results on YouTube, I think we have found one of the newest channels to break the one million subscriber milestone that has posted a video about it.

But now we have to see where they rank against all other YouTube channels based on the number of subscribers the channel has.

If we head over to Social Blade — a website that tracks followers, views, subscribers, and so many more analytics across channels, Twitter accounts & other social platforms, we can enter Tabor Hill’s name, being it is one of the newest channels to hit one million subscribers.

According to Social Blade, Tabor Hill now sits at the rank of 23,010 based on the number of subscribers his YouTube channel has compared to all of the other channels on the Platform.

With that in mind, we can now assume the number of YouTube Channels with over one million subscribers is…

23,000–24,000 total channels.

While Tabor Hill is one of the most recent channels to reach one million subscribers and post a video about it, I am sure others have reached the milestone as well but haven’t made a video just yet. That being said, we added a small buffer zone of 500–1000 additional channels to reach the final number of 23,000–24,000 total channels to surpass the One Million Subscriber Milestone.
