Background:

The Israeli–Palestinian conflict has its roots in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with the birth of major nationalist movements among the Jews and among the Arabs, both geared towards attaining sovereignty for their people in the Middle East. The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British government in 1917 during the First World War announcing support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine.

The conflict intensified after second world war and the holocaust leading to the United Nations' 1947 partition plan, which recommended the establishment of separate Jewish and Arab states in Palestine. The State of Israel was established in 1948, leading to the first Arab-Israeli war. The outcome of the war left Israel in control of a significant portion of the territory that had been designated for an Arab state. Subsequent conflicts, wars, and uprisings, including the Six-Day War in 1967, the First and Second Intifadas, and military operations in Gaza, have shaped the ongoing struggle.

Concerns:

Following the outbreak of this war, the United states came to support Israel, by sending arms and moving its war ships closer to Israel. The United Nation Security Council called for an emergency meeting for to discuss the renewed violence but failed to come to a consensus. However many countries have expressed concern for the safety of millions of civilians, being held as hostage in the gaza strip.

The scarcity of food, fuel, electricity has created and unprecedented impact on the people. A number of hospitals, schools and homes are facing challenges in providing basic necessities for the civilians.

As Israel has ordered people to evacuate the northern area of gaza. An exodus of refugees are waiting on the border of Lebanon, Syria and Egypt. Although the neighbouring countries are working to provide basic supplies, but the countries are sceptical to allow a mass influx of refugees in their own nations.

One of the recent challange in the international order is middle east instability. As USA was in negotiation with Saudi Arabia to stabilise relations with Israel, but with the ongoing conflict major Arab countries have paused any negotiations. On the other hand, Iran backed group Hezbollah has shown support towards the Palestinian cause. If the rivalries continue this end up as an intense war in the middle east. With the ongoing Russian-Ukraine conflict, countries around the world are facing challenge because of inflation, price rise and slowing economy. And with the probability of another war in the east would make fuel expensive, making it difficult for the developing countries.

There are millions of people that are stranded and displaced between the intense bombing on one hand and the endless Mediterranean sea on the other. As the governments, work to negotiate a plan many young children and women face the consequences of this endless strife.
