Him and Gareth Nelson, a friend of his who had the same frustrations, had similar frustrations, decided to open up Bitlnstant, a much more user-friendly company that charged a small amount of fee from the users for the purchase and make purchases with bitcoins at over 700,000 locations.

“I was, like, 22 years old; I had half a million dollars sitting in the bank. I had no expenses. Life was great.”

Shrem ended up spending a year in Jail, due to a customer reselling bitcoin purchased from his company to an illegal drug company.

Today he owns a net worth of 45 million dollars.

The Winklevoss Twins:

Having a net worth of around $900 to 1.1 billion each, Cameron and Taylor Winklevoss are probably best-known individuals for their crypto network. Not long ago, the two brothers sued Facebook claiming it was originally their idea and settled for about $65 million worth of stock and cash. In 2012, they began investing in bitcoin for the first time. They’ve been one of the earliest investors as well as the first ever bitcoin millionaire. Moreover, the brothers built the New York-based the Gemini exchange.

Erik Finman:

Even though Finman is not the wealthiest cryptocurrency investor, Finman is very well-known for his young age, for he is 20 years old. With this in mind, he began repurchasing bitcoin in 2011, after he received a gift of $1,000 from his grandmother, back then, he was only 12 years old. He tweeted.

Today he owns 401 bitcoins, and in 2013 he made his first bitcoin sale and made a profit of 100,000$, with the profits he opened up an education company which he later on sold for 300 bitcoins, later on, he started working at NASA and still manages his and his family’s crypto investments till’ this day.

50 Cent

Yup, you read it right, the popular rapper 50 cent, the guys who goes to the candy shop and celebrates shawty’s birthday is a bitcoin millionaire. according to 50 Cent, he didn’t even know that he had around 700 bitcoins. In 2014, 50 Cent became the world’s first artists and celebrity to accept bitcoin as a payment for his album. The rapper reportedly discovered that he owns bitcoins just recently. 50 Cent mentioned that:

Not Bad for a kid from South Side, I’m so proud of me, I’m a keep it real I forgot I did that shit. Lol.
