The first web pages were basically giant encyclopedias/libraries that contained facts and at best information about the weather or simple emails. Transitioning to Web 2.0, we saw the growth of web pages containing user-generated content. Social media and Wikipedia greatly expanded the amount of information on the internet with user-generated content. File sharing, photo sharing, video sharing, and social media became common use-cases.
